One Place for Everything and Everything in its Place

On 27.04.2023 at 5:00 p.m., the exhibition of the National Museum of Education – Gabrovo “One Place for Everything and Everything in its Place”, will be opened in “Konstantin Velichkov” house museum, 6 Teodor Trayanov Street.
On 18 panels, the history of education during the Renaissance is presented – from the cell schools to the formation of the first high schools in the Bulgarian lands. The transition from cell to secular education was carried out by Hellenic-Bulgarian schools. Their discovery is due to the need of Bulgarian merchants and craftsmen for secular knowledge and mastery of the Greek language.
The original editions of grammar and primers, the first Bulgarian textbooks – the mutual learning tables, consent of teachers, letters between the school boards, and reports on students’ success, behavior, and absences are presented. The material construction of the revival school is illustrated with the help of various documents: voluntary aid and receipts for donated sums.
The exhibition has been supplemented with original cultural values from the fund of the Regional Historical Museum – Pazardzhik and can be visited until June 27, 2023, every weekday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
