Tell Yunatsite – 80 years since the beginning of archaeological research

On November 14, 2019 at 06.00 pm in the hall for temporary exhibitions of Regional History Museum – Pazardzhik, 15 Konstantin Velichkov Square – was opened an exhibition “Tell Yunatsite – 80 years since the beginning of archaeological research.”

Various objects found during the archeological excavations illustrate the life of the inhabitants of the village during the Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Ages – housing, spiritual life, economy.

Many of the objects are exhibited to the public for the first time. Among them are the gold finds found in the Chalcolithic layer, dating from around 4600 – 4500 BC, proof that this is the oldest processed gold found so far in Europe.

The exhibition is realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition will remain on display until January 31, 2020.
